Four in the frame

Four in the Frame

This week an invitation arrived in the post from Pauline Bellamy. Four in the Frame opens on Tuesday September 11 at Dunedin’s Community Gallery and closes on the 19th.

The four artists are: Maurie Angelo, Pauline Bellamy, Manu Berry and Ron Esplin. Pauline, Manu and Ron are all exhibiting in When North meets South so I’m particularly keen to go along to the opening to see what they’ve been up to over the winter months.

Pauline will be displaying “Large works from South Island locations.”

Manu, a new series of harbour prints celebrating our wild life and also works celebrating the birth of his daughter, Eulalia.

Maurie has exercised his multimedia skills to portray the land in a new and exciting way.

Ron has produced a series of acrylic canvases of the staff of life called “Still Loafs.”

If you’re in town and need a restful break from the shops pop into The Community Gallery – it’s next to the Visitors Centre in Princes St. And if you want to see how the printmaking process works then call into the Gallery on Thursday 13, Friday 14 or Monday 17 when Pauline and Manu will be demonstrating their printmaking skills.
