Haiku Hawk

Jenny Longstaff makes me nervous. She rang me a few days before the exhibition to say her Haiku Hawk painting was finished and ready for delivery. Then a few hours later I received another phone call. I’m just going to experiment Ruth. I think it needs a more misty look, I’ll get back to you. Experimenting is fine I have no problem with that but not at such a late stage in the project. I waited for the phone call but there was only an anxious silence. I didn’t want to pressure her or make her think I doubted her abilities so I didn’t ring. But at 6pm there was a knock at our door. There was Jenny with one terrific painting, intact, looking fine after an obviously successful experiment!
