Unexpected rain

While the exhibition is on I’ve been minding the Gallery two afternoons a week.  I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to chat to people as they come in, and also the chance to just sit and watch the changing weather and its effects on the sea. I’ve had the front door open to allow the warmth to wander in, the front door closed as I’ve ignored the wind’s whistling plea to enter, the fire burning fiercely as the rain has puddled down and an occasional longing look at children passing with ice creams as the sun has burned in through the windows. This is Dunedin, a city renowned for all weathers in one day.

So Janet de Wagt’s painting says it all really……….
