Group photo with Pauline Bellamy and me at the front

A few weeks back I contacted all the Dunedin rest/retirement homes suggesting they might like to bring their residents down to the Gallery for an afternoon’s outing. So when Pauline rang yesterday morning to say a retirement home had rung asking if they could come down I was delighted.   As it was one of my days off work I drove down and spent a wonderful half hour with six residents from Yvette Williams.

They were so so interested, and asked very intelligent questions – thankfully Pauline was on hand to answer those! I took the opportunity to explain about Poems in the Waiting Room and gave them each a summer card to take back home to read.  They happily lined up in front of the camera for a photo or two before they departed. Later on I looked out the window and they were sitting enjoying ice creams on waterfront benches. Another beautiful day down at the Bay.
