The Opening – Sunday November 4

Macandrew Bay was inundated with art and poetry lovers at 5pm. According to reports, cars were lined up on the side of the road as far as the eye could see. I was so busy in the Gallery catching up with friends, selling exhibition booklets, explaining about Poems in the Waiting Room,  checking on food supplies that I didn’t have a chance to see the effects of the exhibition on the community’s parking spaces!

It felt a bit like a wedding. You know, the months (8 in this case) of preparation and planning and then whoosh it’s all over! But unlike a wedding our exhibition continues for three weeks.

I didn’t have a chance to take any photos but two friends drifted through the crowds snapping here and there – thank you Louise and Rosalind!
