Winter sunset

A frame will never be just a frame again. Watching Emma Chalmers create a frame for one of her paintings made me realize how complex this process can be. First there are decisions to be made – colour, size, style, thickness……., then the measuring and joining, and the glass cutting – well that’s a whole drama in itself. All very traumatic from my point of view. Full credit to Emma who remained calm and cheerful throughout this exacting and unforgiving task.

Emma’s painting was a response to Karen Peterson Butterworth’s haiku – winter sunset pink woodsmoke.
