Hi, I’m Lyn Hurring

I’ve started preliminary work on my haiku piece and am looking forward to getting some paint onto canvas (or wood) soon. And as for my background:

I’m a Dunedin-based artist with a passion for creativity. I love to draw, and am constantly getting inspiration and ideas from my surroundings, family, and the business of life in general.  I’ve been creating since I was a child, making things, drawing things, painting things, and I’m very pleased to say that I enjoy these activities just as much now as I did back then.   I have a particular fondness for fun and colour, and there is often an element of humor incorporated into my artworks.  I use whatever media takes my fancy – usually, acrylics, sometimes watercolor, ALWAYS pen and pencil, and I tend to produce my works on paper, wood or canvas. In addition to being an artist I have two kids, a husband, a job as an accountant, and three cats to keep track of, so it’s not just my art that keeps me busy!  But when you have a passion for something, it’s really not hard to find the time to follow it, and that’s how it works with me. My motto: there is always time for painting! …or drawing….or sewing….or just thinking up the next creation……
