Clearing dense bamboo

That lady’s painting is just my favourite green commented a young school lad visiting the gallery last week. ‘That lady” is Kerry Fenton-Johns and her painting was a response to this haiku

   

It’s a bold and assured painting, quite striking.  Kerry tutors a very successful weekly art class in Green Island.  On Monday mornings, when we’re reviewing our weekend activities, Kerry’s Saturday morning art class features as one of the weekend highlights for my boss Julie.  She thinks I should ‘give it a try’ but I’m quite content painting pictures with words.
